Gordon Brown UK PM is keen on saying he hopes the opposition will join him on whatever issue. Now we have Obama saying he hopes both parties will feel the same about some of his moves.

  1. All politicians say that ... it makes them seem 'inclusive' and as if they are being friendly to the other side.

  2. Brown is just messed up.

  3. Well we left England because of high taxes.  And we know Obama agrees with that!

  4. No conservative will join Obama in his socialist regime

  5. I don't know if it's copying, really. It's just a good idea. Partisan politics have always been a minefield of a system, and both populations are starting to get a little weary from having to pick from two sides which one they hate less. If a President or Prime Minister could grab on to the best of both worlds and reach some realistic compromises, rather than simply parroting party rhetoric, it might actually make some real and valuable change in the world.

  6. The hope of any politician on an issue they feel strongly about is that both sides will agree with them - that's the best way to facilitate making a change with minimal opposition.  It's not a new idea and one is not copying the other - they are simply of like mind in the hope that all their plans will smoothly flow through the legislative process.  Realistically, parties often reject ideas from the other side and vote against them - it is rare that anything would not receive opposition, but there are some that would - for instance, I don't think any American politicians would oppose any government action in safekeeping all the residents of New Orleans and other Gulf cities with hurricane Gustav bearing down on them as I write this.

  7. obama pandering again.

    lolol

  8. Gondon Brown and his infernal time machine.

  9. Does it really matter politicians will latch onto anything that they think will make the population sympathetic to their cause
