  1. I had a cockatiel who would do this i put a funnel around his cage so she could not throw it out know i have a macaw and she has a funnel around here cage

PS. yahoo wants me to put cocktail too even tho its cockatiel

  2. She is only doing it to hear you complain....lol

  3. Mine died of Chirpese. It's an untweetable canarial disease.....

  4. I put my cockatiel's food and water dishes near the bottom of the cage and wrapped plastic (like the plastic you put down on the floor when you paint a room) around the bottom third of the cage to block the seeds from falling out of the cage. I put his toys, swing, etc. near the top of the cage where there was no plastic wrap so he could see out of the cage unless he was at the bottom eating.

  5. The bird cage seed guard helps some...

  6. I don't have a cockatiel, but I work at Petco.  I know that we sell what is called "seed catchers" that will catch the seeds your bird is throwing and prevent them from going onto the floor.  Also, your bird may be wanting some attention and that may be the reason he is doing it.  They are highly intelligent and they know what they are doing, so if spilling seeds onto the floor brings you to him and gets a reaction, negative or positive, he may do it for that reason.  It also may be that he is simply a picky eater and is looking for particular seeds.  However, if you feed him pellets, I would say it may be more of the former reason than the latter.  Good luck!
