In your opinion, are your teachers presenting the topic of Global Warming (Climate Change) in a balanced manner?

Are you being told one way or the other.... how to believe?

  1. Global warming is not a matter of balance or "being fair", it is about science.  In my AP environmental science class, we read a textbook written by scientists and learned about AGW, which is what most scientists think is happening.  In the science world, most scientists think that global warming is happening.

  2. At my school we are currently foccusing on global warming in P.S.H.E (like life orientation) and my teacher showed us 'an inconvenient truth' and it really changed my perspective on global warming. but it also scared me. my teacher isn't biased, she leaves it up to us which way to percieve it.

  3. Really good question!  I am not your target demographic, but i have Middle School aged kids, and I tutor middle school kids.  I have seen science books from both of their schools.  one book is incredibly biased (saying AGW exists, and that man is 100% responsible for it), and the other book (my kids book) is bias-neutral, and really presents only facts, not appointing blame to people, per say, just saying "one theory is that man is creating the warming"...

now, i have no insight into what the TEACHERS are saying, but there is some perspective on the book contnet.  depends on where you go.

  4. my teachers are not responsible for presenting the topic of global warming. unless i'm in environmental science, that it different. i'm the only one who should be responsible of my knowledge of climate change. :]

i don't believe everything is our fault. i believe it's a natural cycle too, but we are catalysts. and if al gore stops using his limos, his big houses, or his private jets, i might actually listen to his bull that everyone already knows. :]

  5. I am VERY interested in reading the "honest" answers to your question. Sorry I am an OLD guy...... no class today! :) Remember the actual disagreement is NOT if the temperature is going up or down --- but WHY.

  6. Very good question. Well, I'm a middle-school student. The teachers and the students do discuss about climate change, and they say that we (humans) are impacting this world, and changing it. But, there are no lessons about global warming or climate change, just discussions.
