For a pea plant that is true breeding for a particular trait how many different alleles are present at the locus in question?

  1. The other answerer was correct that there would only be one kind of allele that would be present in a true breed. This is due to the fact that the trait in question is homozygous (same allele).

  2. Bred true means it is homozygous, and thus, only 1 allele.
