Question:

A question for my fellow democrats: Can you please lighten up?

Sarah Palin's daughter is not running for any public office. For two days I've seen question after question bashing not just the mother but the daughter as well. Some have gone so far as to call the girl a wh*re. If you want to criticize the mother then fine, she's running for office and is fair game. But can we please avoid direct attacks on the daughter? I'm including an example of one of the more disgusting and immature questions.

  1. If everyone, Dems and Reps, listened to Obama's speech. we'd all be alright  That was "families are off limits".

  2. Thank you.

  3. Most are attacking Sarah for being selfish.

But hey, if you can't handle it...maybe politics isn't for you.  Go back to the kiddie pool if you can't take it.  This is the internet...it doesn't matter what the subject is you are going to get a few that take it too far.  Roll with it...stop whining and grow a set.

  4. Interesting that when Michelle Obama was dragged down in the dirt, Obama told them his family was of limits.  I distinctly remember Hannity, other Fox News reps and Limbaugh, all mocked him and said the should deal with it.

Now that the shoe is on the other foot, suddenly should be sensitive and back off?

    HAW!

  5. How bout it!    Go get a bowl of moose soup and relax libs!

    Go Palin!

    Go McCain!

    Drill here Drill now!

    Build Nuclear!

    Go away Obama!

  6. Even worse are the attacks on her Down Syndrome baby. Backlash is coming.

  7. Most people are actually attacking Sarah Palin, not Bristol.

  8. Agreed.

I feel sorry for Bristol, her mom has focused all this attention on her, and McPOW clearly didn't vet Palin otherwise she'd never have to deal with this.

  9. The hypocrisy of the right knows no bounds. After months of  tasteless,

vituperate postings now they want to stop the name calling.  Some of the most hateful remarks targeting Obama's two little girls and his wife have caused this dooky storm that is being dumped on their candidate

and now they want an end to it.  It seem that the right has no stomach

    for this after all.

  10. Okay, Mr. Republican.

Personally, I can care less about her pregnancy.  I don't know of anyone who hasn't been touched by a teen pregnancy.

The problem I have with it is the hypocrisy surrounding the pregnancy.  Now all of a sudden, the Republicans are okay with teen pregnancies.  Yet, when minorities get pregnant, they're viewed as just another statistic.

Even McCain has fought his entire time in the Senate against teen pregnancy programs.

And Sarah herself is running on a platform of abstinence education.  So how can she try to sell this concept to a nation when she can't even sell it to her own daughter?

  11. I'm not going to state which way I'm voting as I'll just get a million thumbs down no matter which way I state.  But I did want to say that I agree with you.  We shouldn't attack the family members of the people who are running.  If you want to say something negative, make it about the actual candidate, not their family members.

  12. The attacks should not be on her daughter, however I believe those questions like you listed, is more of an attack on Palin. only because she is supposed to represent the "perfect" Evangelical mother, who has taught her children "good" Evangelical values, morals and ethics, which she has obviously been a complete failure at.

Palin comes out of nowhere, behaves as if she knows everything there is to know, threatening the rights of a woman's right to choose, talks about teaching creationism in schools and is yet another Evangelical nut case, not different from what we've seen in the last 8 years and people have had it with these people who claims to be a "good" holier than thou" Christian, who would only attempt to shove her beliefs on everyone.

In the short time since she's come into play, we already know about scandals she's involved in, in Alaska. We know McCain picked her as VP for one of three reasons. He was either told to pick her by his secret advisers, Bush, Cheney and Rove, or to bring back the right wing vote, or to get the Hillary supporters vote.

Mccain has totally given in on his moderate Republican platform and will become more right wing as time goes on. He'll do anything he has to, which just makes Democrats disrespect him more and more. In doing this he has again flip flopped, was completely politically motivated

and Democrats are just not going to put up with it anymore. The Republicans have had no problem insulting Obama's children, someone on yahoo even referred to them as "nappy niggerettes" and enough is enough. We've had it with the ignorant, rude Republican mentality, the lies and smears they've made up for months about Obama and his wife.

I agree it's ugly to attack the candidates children, but the way I feel is t*t for tat. The Republicans have no problem dishing it out, but can't take it. They get all up in arms and the way I feel, it's just too bad.
