I understand that after excessive wearing of high heeled shoes, tendons can shorten and one can lose the ability to wear flat shoes without great pain. For those of you who experienced this, was this a concious decision on your part, or did it happen by accident (career dress code, etc)? How soon did you notice the condition, and how did you feel when you discovered it? Are you or do you plan to take action to correct it? Thankyou.

  1. I wear high heels to work everyday.  I switch between 3 inch and 4 inch.  Unlike a hair stylist I'm sitting about half the time so in 20 plus years I have not had the tendons problem you talk about.  However I need to buy really expensive high heels now because cheap ones make the balls of my feet hurt and my heel bone.  On weekends I wear flats.
