Question:

A question for professional painters about paint spray rigs?

Considering adding radiant barrier paint to my home services biz. The specs of HEATBLOCK 75 indicate the sprayer should have a capacity of 3/4 gallon per minute. I find this much capacity only on the more expensive spray rigs... If i use for example a sprayer with 1/.2 GPM will it just take longer to spray an attic or will this cause a problem with the sprayer or integrity of the application? the paint includes tiny aluminum particles suspended in a water base carrier...they recomend removing all filters of course.

thanks in advance...

  1. I'm not a pro painter, but I sell Graco brand spray equipment and am a certified repair tech.

Do not go below the manufacturers recommended specs for spraying.  The material is probably too thick to spray through a smaller machine and will not pick up the product adequately.  The rig will clog and cause more nightmares than it is worth.

Smallest machine to spray .75 gallond/min:  Graco UltraMax II 695.  I sell it for $2300.
