Do you wear a hijab or not? I have a few female friends who choose not to wear one and I also have some that wear "normal" summer tops. Do you think these females aren't being true to Islam by revealing some of their skin and hair????

  1. Its not called hijab if her hair is showing, and she wears tight clothes etc. like that watch this video,i think it shows a perfect example of what a hijabby is supossed to be and not be.

  2. I cover totally, but have people in my family who don't. The amount of covering does not determine how good one is, they may have lack of knowledge but one should not judge a person on how much/less they cover.

  3. I wear the hijab.

Muslim women who wear revealing "normal" summer tops just want men's attention. Lol.

  4. im not sure but my sister doesnt wear a hijab and were muslim, i dont think by doing this makes u not a tru islam but it would be better if u did

  5. i dont wear it but it doesnt change who i am , it is choice

  6. i dont wear a hijab, but i have a friend who does. i have chosen not to wear one (im only 15. that MAY change)

i think it is okay to reveal hair and our face. as in "skin" - we musnt reveal our shoulders, midriffs, legs and entire arms. and the quran does not force hijab upon us. it is recommended and appreciated by Allah, however, to be a good muslim, we must primarily serve allah and be good, honest people.

  7. Islam only requires that women dress "modestly". These rules were written in a time and culture in which many women (most middle eastern people were not yet muslim) would often be topless from the waist up, just like men (hey, it's hot!)

The modesty rule in those days basically meant "cover your b*****s". It is only once Islam became the dominant religion in the middle east that the rule got interpreted more and more restrictively.

  8. ok

hijab is use 2 cover their AURAT,i dunno wheter it's wajib / sunnahh 2 waer it....

    SORRY:D

  9. Yes.Faith is more essential than Fashion, wouldn't u agree? Watch this cool link:

A Muslim has no choice, but to comply with Allah's orders. It's not a good idea to claim that u prefer something else while Allah orders against it. The word 'Islam' means: submission to God's will. So if u enter this agreement (Islam) with God, and then betray Him...it's not honest.

  10. I don't wear one, but I wear modest clothes. (bottoms are to my knee or below, and shirts have to cover my shoulders)

I pray and follow the most important rules in the religion too. For the people who wear it, good for you because modesty is important in Islam. I just prefer not to wear it, however I do wear it when I pray. I don't think they are being untrue to Islam if they show a little bit of skin, but if they commit adultery or reavell too much that they look a prostitute, then no. From more religious people, you'll get a "wear a hijab or else!" kind of answer. I do have reletives that wear one, but they don't force me to wear one. Only God can judge your friends. If they do good deeds and stuff, it shouldn't be a problem.

    Can you help me?

  11. I don't wear a hijab but both of my sisters' do! everyone is different...only Allahji knows what is in your heart!

  12. "..Do you think these females aren't being true to Islam by revealing some of their skin and hair????"..

No,i dn;t think so unless they are wearing a revealing immodest dress .

By simply having some exposed skin or hair, they dn't become non-muslims.Faith is much above than a piece of flesh.

But again,i dn't agree to those dresses that reveal your female curves, the ones that are very tight and like...

  13. Here's a good article for the sisters to read:

  14. The whole point in a hijab is to make you modest...modesty varies from place to place around the world. I don't wear one and I'm not planing to...it all depends <3

  15. no

i dont deserve to wear it ive been a really bad person the last couple months

  16. Yes I do wear hijab.

Like Ninja said, the amount you cover does not determine the amount of faith one has.

All I have to say is that: when Allah has commanded for women to cover, how can we seriously deny his commandment? I, for one, do not want to be the cause of Allah's wrath.  Simple solution would be to follow his commands. Hijab is a commandment of Allah!

  17. A practising God-fearing devoted Muslim woman wears the hijab.

Some people are just Muslim by name.

  18. the ruling of hijab is an obligation.  hijab doesn't equal to a small head scarf.  it means a full loose covering from head to toe, except the face and hands.  the face veil has difference in scholar's opinion to be must or not, but both agree its part of Islaam and good to do.

a good Muslim tries to get to all the obligations as much as possible.  so when you are not striving to do so, you are not... so i don't mean hijaab, but in general.  there is no way for me to know what a person is striving and not striving unless they tell me.

To not cover as stated in Islaam is a sin, yes.  but it is not one that takes someone out of Islaam, but it does become a big sin when deliberately left aside.

as for what you asked, I won't put it in those words, rather as a Muslim I have the responsibility to show them what Islaam says, and pray for them, but if they keep ignoring, they will face the day of judgement one day, just like me.

Edit: also personally I find it ridiculous when people wear something like tight jeans and top, all female parts highlighted, or see through dress and have a small piece of garment on the head, and even big ear rings hanging out.  to them covering the hair is hijab, so some just covers with even a wig, or bandanna etc. i don't mean to offend any sisters, but i really feel disgusted to c that.  cover or don't cover or even partially cover (modest clothes with/without hijab), what in the world is that which u do?

  19. Yes I do.

But I prefer muslim women who don't wear it to muslim women who wear it improperly.  Too fashionable, eye catching.  It defeats the purpose.

  20. My family is Muslim and the majority of the females (including my mother and my sister) in my immediate and extended family dont wear one...they say its only an obligation but not mandatory.

I dont know what you mean by "normal" summer tops but they wear regular clothing i.e. pants and shirts but dont wear things that reveal too much i.e. shorts/skirts, more than half-sleeves etc.

Im originally from Pakistan and I had never heard of hijab being mandatory until very recently by some Muslims. Even back home, the majority of female relatives dont wear it.

  21. Christians and jews are supposed to "cover up" too.

But today only some nuns do that only in church.

Who are you to judge whether showing off hair or skin are not being true to Islam its modern times now wearing hijab doesn't really makes sense.

Just ask yourself, am I not modest just because I am not covered from head to toe or its a must because guys would look at me?It really doesn't make sense and its too backward.

Religion is a part of your life not your whole life, and sometimes you have to use your brains a little bit and not let religion decide everything for you

  22. i dont wear the hijab but i try and stay covered...

but like i dont think going over the top is good

like really tight cloths and small stuff..

  23. I'm a fifteen year old Muslim girl who's been wearing hijab for two years, despite the initial objections of most of my family. I'm not one to say you have to wear hijab or not, that is between you and Allah, but I do think it's very hypocritical when Muslim girls are walking around in mini skirts and tube tops and then show up as the mosque on Friday.

I think these girls are confused and are trying too hard to fit in, maybe refusing to wear the hijab to rebel against a family that wants you to wear it, which I can understand but doesn't make it right. Your relationship with God should be the foremost thing, always.

  24. Been a hijabi since 10! 16 right now!!

Gonna start abaya when I'm 18!! Can't wait. It's MY OWN CHOICE.

Revealing skin and hair is not the worst offence in Islam. Shirk and adultery are. However, if you're proud to be Muslim, SHOW IT AND WEAR HIJAB!!

    |f you dislike Islam so much, convert. There is NO COMPULSION IN RELIGION

  25. yes i do wear hijab

and i think they arent being tru because Allah (swt) has sed that women and men should guard their modesty :)

    and beauty is only temporary

  26. In Islam we are not supposed judge each other we are supposed to advice each other and let people live the way they want to live.

I know many people who judge women without hijab I also know many people who judge women with hijab. People should be left alone.

I do smile when I see a hijabi sister because we share something special that is the hijab.

The none hijabi sisters are safe from me as I know some of them are WAY better than me.

  27. yeah i wear hijab =]

well its their choice whether or not they want to wear hijab, maybe its the way they've been brought up and their families never thought it was important enough to teach them it. but the least they could do is stay covered and not reveal too much skin =]

  28. yes I wear it.  And I know the perception is that any woman wearing the hijab is thumbing her nose down upon any woman who does not (kind of a reverse form of intolerance) but to be completely frank, I could care less what any person does or does not do.  Bottom line I am responsible for my own soul and my actions only.
