Ok so you were invited to go along to look into some site where there is a haunting or other like type of activity. After going along once, would you be willing to go back a few more times? If you experienced something, would you do it as a control to back up anything you felt or saw for yourself? And if you experienced nothing, would you go back a few more times to give the site a chance to show you something? Would you go along with an open mind, or would you go with a closed mind?

  1. the point of being a sceptic is wantinc proof, fact is we want to believe.   Believeing is s**y, it gets chicks, it gets fame and money, but we have a sense of honesty that we cant ovrlook.   Also those of us who are more scientifically minded LOVE solveing things...the reason most supernatural things are debunked and aren't proven is a scientist see's it as a challenge....honestly we love it, I'd move into a haunted house for a week and yes......... we don't  start out skeptical, but once we observe...it will come under scrutiny......no one want's to be right all the time.  believe me any proff of paranormal that can stand up to modern science or trickery will be embraced like crazy.....but then it will fall under closer scrutiny by skeptic scientists too....

we all WANT to believe....but the world needs reason...science provides that so any paranormal experience has to stand up to scrutiny in the end from those that want it to be true and those that don't.

  2. Depending on the invite,I'd go back as long as it was fun or interesting.I go everywhere with an open mind.I probably wouldn't expect too much going in.That's true, but I'd be honest.

I have returned many times to a supposedly paranormal site. The New Jersey pine barrens are the home of the Jersey Devil.I've gone their many times since childhood. Many people that live there swear they've seen this spawn of Satan. They can't walk out the door without a sighting. With as often as I've been there, you'd think I'd have run into it.True I'm not really looking for it,but still.

Anyway, just because up until now I've been disappointed.I remain hopeful for a pleasant surprise on the next visit.

  3. I'd have to have a direct expereince. If I did I would have to have it validated by others present and by some sort of consistent equipment readings. I would not waste my time going back to some place again and again if there were no results. I would go wiht a skeptical mind and assume at first glace that everythgin I witnessed (if anything) had a sceintific explanation.

  4. I would try to go back more than once.  Like a house, with thumping in the attic at midnight, I would watch it for more than just around midnight, in other conditions, to rule out mundane reasons.

3 times at least - The first time is pure doubt, the second time is to double check the phenomenon, and the third time to triple check it.  Even with that information, it would take a lot of research to make sure it wasn't something normal.  And I would have a second person with me at least, another skeptic.  But not so skeptic that they say "not real" and stick to what they learned in school before even looking at it.

Unless I was scared by the phenomenon.  Like chairs flying around dangerously.  Something scary might get 2 visits tops.
