If you really enjoy shooting 22LR rifle, then you probably have more than a few to choose from. What's you favorite one to shoot? Do you have a "go to" gun when it comes to 22? You know the kind of gun you go to when you just want to shoot and have some fun.

Out of all the 22's I have, my "go to" gun is my Henry or one of my Mossberg 46's.

  1. Ruger 10/22.

  2. this one is very easy. without a doubt the marlin model 60. and there is a reson why more of them have been sold than any other rifle. the are less expensive. i have alos had the ruger 10 20. and the marline outshoots it every time. the marlin os more reliable. they last longer. they are more accurate on the average. abnd they also have a feature that the ruger 1022 lack. the last shot hold open. means that when you have fired the last shot the bolt stays open, preventing a dry fire which can be damagaing on your firing pin.

  3. For 20+ years I had a Ruger 10/22. It was stolen and replaced with another. Great little rifle.

  4. My go to, when you need it right is a Remington 541-S.  The first rifle I purchased

  5. Actually I only have one, a 10/22. I also have a Ruger mkII. I'd like to get another 10/22 and an ak before November but this goal I doubt I'll be able to reach, to many things on my pre-election shopping list... And not enough money to do it with...

  6. Go-To is one of the Marlin 60s I own.

It's an older 70s model with the 18 LR count  tube mag and longer barrel. It has never one failed to go pop in thousands of tries and can disintegrate Ritz crackers and shotshells at 50 all day long.

Got it for $55 from a pawn, complete with vintage Weaver rimfire tube up top. The wood finish was rough, so I stripped and sanded it down and stained it dark blue. It's known as the Blue Marlin of course, one of the few guns I own that has a name.

My newest favorite is the Henry plain Jane lever (H001?). What a beautiful look and feel and action for a $200 gun, and she shoots as straight as I can at reasonable distances. I've been remiss about taking her out to nail jackrabbit, as she's so pretty I don't want to scratch her up.

Have plenty more, as I use them to teach newbies pretty regularly, plus someone is always selling me more, dammit! With the price of ammo and me hoarding all the surplus military amm I can buy, the .22s are getting a real workout these days and I'm shooting a few hundred rounds a week.

  7. A very fun cartridge to shoot.

Some of my favorites are (in no order):

    Marlin 39a

    Ruger 10/22

    Winchester 74

    Remington Nylon 66

  8. Immediate go-to is my Marlin 60, with 4-12x40mm Bushnell.

My favorite is the Marlin 39A, the most accurate .22LR rifle I have ever shot.

.22 mag would have to be the Marlin 883SSV bolt action.

  9. Marlin Model 60 and I also enjoy my Savage single shot 22 magnum

  10. My Marlin 39A lever action.

    Then my Ruger 10/22

  11. my go to .22 is my henry its just one of those guns the wieght and balance is perfect for me first time i shot it it was 35 off hand standing up hit a 1 inch bulls eye

  12. I have a Ruger Mark II pistol, a Marlin 60, Marlin 880sq, and a Marlin 917 (had to throw it in but it is a 17hmr)

Of the 22's, I'll grab a brick of Winchester Dynapoints and my heavy barrel 880 and shoot 12ga hulls all day long at 50 yards. It's the most accurate 22 I've ever shot.

  13. My Remington Model 341 which is one of the first ones that was manufactured in the first year it was produced.* Sweet accurate original rifle.*

  14. ive got my ruger 10/22 with some body parts i took off a AMD65 replica as my "go-to gun" however my favorite gun out of them all is an old single shot 22 made by Ithaca that my gandpa gave me

  15. My Ruger 10/22 is my favorite. It's so nice looking all black and silver.

  16. a Ruger 10/22 it is the only one I have rite now,it is a lot of cheap fun to load up a 50 shot drum and shoot it as fast as you can at a bad guy target.

  17. love my old bolt action Cooey, never let my down

  18. I love the 10/22 Ruger! such a fun 22LR to shoot!

  19. My Dad gave me a Winchester Model 62.

I have been shooting/hunting with this rifle for over 50 years.

It's not only a fun little rifle, it still looks good and shoots great. It's always the most popular rifle, whenever friends and family get together for a days shooting.

Another .22 that I enjoy is the semi-auto tube version of the Weatherby XXII . They shoot as good as they look.

  20. my ruger 10/22 of course is my standard go-to gun

but I also have my grandfather's Winchester model 52, which I affectionately call 'old heavy', with a wonderful peep sight very remincient of the old 1903 springfield flip up ladder peep.  My grandfather died when my mother was still pregnant with me, so it is nice to have that connection, and 'old heavy' is gets reached for 2nd most often.

My winchester 52 is identical to this one http://www.gunsinternational.com/detail....
