Here's something that ive been thinking about recently. Jesus was "perfected" according to the Bible (Hebrews 2:10, Hebrews 5:9). This implies he wasn't perfect before. But if there was a time he wasn't perfect, then how could he be God?

  1. The phrase is about Christ demonstrating that he was perfect by his suffering and obedience to death.

  2. That is exactly right. Jesus is not God!

  3. That was speaking in terms of His humanly life.  As Jesus is God Himself, He is perfect.  Remember that Jesus became man.  Jesus never sinned.

By the way, you must believe in the Trinity to be a Christian and as part of being saved.

  4. Hebrew 2:10

The exact word can also mean "accomplished" or "fulfilled"

    Hebrew 5:9

    same thing.

  5. There is no such thing as a trinitarian Christian. Jesus never taught the trinity. Instead of saying God is composed of three co-equal, co-eternal persons, Jesus said his Father--NOT the trinity--is the only true God. (John 17:3)

Jesus has always been perfect. Before coming to the earth, Jesus was a model of obedience in heaven. However, it was here on earth that he “learned obedience.” How? “From the things he suffered.” Previously, he had observed suffering but had never experienced it in person. When on earth, especially from his baptism in the Jordan to his death at Golgotha, he underwent many trying situations. We do not know all the details of how Jesus was “made perfect” in this regard, but we do know that the process took time. Hebrews 5:8, 9.

Jesus is God's Son, not God himself. As 1 John 5:5 says: "Who is the one that conquers the world but he who has faith that Jesus is the Son of God?"
