A question of the inconsistencies of Philippine renewal passport I.D. specifications.

in the FDA website:

An Excerpt from http://www.dfa.gov.ph/consular/passport-eng.htm

Applicant should be in decent attire with collar

BUT in passport.com.ph

http://passport.com.ph/app/requirements/new.php

Applicant should be in decent attire with collar "& sleeves and in dark-colored shirt."

My Question:

Which of the two website is correct?

The addition does of having to wear "in dark-colored shirt" does not make sense to me?

Why would a Photo applicant has to wear a dark-colored shirt against a royal blue background?

Can anyone clarify this for me?

Am i not allowd to wear a light polo instead of a dark-colored shirt?

Note: pls share your source of information

thanks :)

  1. I am a Filipino and based on my experience, the background of my passport photo is not royal blue and I was able to get my passport last April 2007.

  2. It is more of an omission rather than an inconsistency. The dark-colored shirt will provide contrast to the person in the picture. If the person wore a royal blue shirt with a royal blue background, chances are, only his head and neck will be seen as the outline of the body will disappear into the background. Hope this helps.*
