I am about to add angel fish to my 90 gallon tank and was wondering if this was true.. I went to a pet shop and the man told me that there is a type of angel that can only grow quite small?? I want to introduce this small angel to my tank that has minnows in, is there such a thing as a small angelfish?

  1. I personally didn't hear about this kind of an angels, so I can't tell for sure. I checked a few sources and didnt find anything related to your question. My advice for you is to get regular angels and don't think about hybrid angels.

  2. there certainly are small angels. it is best not too put an adult angel with small fish. even if you add a baby angel, when it grows it will still attack newly added small fish such as tetras and guppies. i found this out a few years back myself so i have never kept another angel fish before and to be honest unless i have a tank with ONLY large fish in such as sharks and gouramis i will never have another one again.

  3. I have never heard of a small angel fish.  The fish are small at first but they can grow rather large.  Are we talking about salt water or fresh water?  A saltwater angel cannot be out with any other ANGEL fish.  They are fine to put with other fish.  We have five saltwater tanks and have never had a problem adding angel fish to our communities.  Good luck with your fish.

  4. Iv never heard of an angle fish that was small full grown. But of course they're all small when young. If you want to get a young one you'll be alright for a while because it takes them about a year to get to the size where they might start eating your minnows. and when he gets that big just keep him well fed and he should be alright
