Question:

A question on Bikes! Bike store vs Elsewhere?

I'm looking to purchase a bike. I had a bike from costco some time ago. But, as alot of people noted, the quality of bikes at non-bike stores (target, kmart, costco, walmart, etc) are not made to endure much time, and they break down quite easily. This was the case with my bike, and after about half a year of use, it just broke down on me one day while I was riding it (I wasn't hurt thankfully). Now, I am in need for a bike again, and looking to purchase one but don't know if I should give costco another shot or purchase at a bikestore (which is quite expensive). Price is my major concern and I'm looking for a bike in the price range of 200-300. Should I just purchase one at a bike store? If so, what brands are recommendable? Thanks!!

  1. i think bike store is good information batterthan walmart , target, kmart.  My blog astore have cheap bike can you reviews spec , price , and more information it help you decision.

  2. Go to your local bike shop. They can set you up with something in your price range that will be much better than you are used to.

Generally, Diamondback, Mongoose (from bike shops not Walmart), KHS, and Raleigh have one grade better components than other brands at the same price.

  3. FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, DON'T BUY A BIKE FROM A DEPARTMENT STORE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  4. Sure, repeat the same mistake by going to Costco.  It'll get you by another few months and save you a few bucks, and this time it may break when you are flying down a hill.........
