Suppose India is chasing a total of 249.

India is on 249/3

Sehwag is on strike and on 94, 10 overs are left

Sehwag hits a Six

Now, Sehwag's final score in the match will be 100 not out or 95 not out?

India's total will be recorded as 255/3 or 250/3?

Since, the 5 surplus runs were not needed.

  1. if India were chasing 249 & if the score was 249/3,there itself the match is all over. But if they were chasing 250 & then sehwag hits a six, then he completes his 100 & India's score would be 255/3.

  2. well as for ur first question, yes, Sehwag will get a 100 and India's score would be 255/3

if batsman runs two runs and gets out in the second and if the team doesnt need it, the run nor the wicket will be considered

  3. Sehwag's total would be 100 and India's total would be 255/3................

in the rule book it is mentioned so..................

same was the case in the last match of Delhi DareDevils...........

at the end, when Sehwag was on 94 and if he was on strike and he hit a six, his total would have been 100 and the total of the Delhi DareDevils would have been 148/1...........

  4. sehwag's score will be 100* & india's score will be 255/3 if balls are left and runs needed are less then the surplus will be counted, no problems in that.

  5. Obviously Sehwag will 100 and the Team Score will be 255. But When Sehwag is on non striker end and the striker hit a single, Then if the striker dont want that single he will give the strike to Sehwag without adding a single to his name and to the team. The same thing Vengsarkar did for Chetan Sharma to score a century against Newzealand. It is possible

  6. Are u a newbee?

    Sewhag score will be 100.

    India score will be 250/3.

this rule is been fallowed for the past 100 years.

  7. Sehwag's score will be 100

and India's score will be 255/3

  8. Sehwag's score will be 100

and Team India's score will be 255/3
