I have a doubt regarding visa interview

Like if my purpose is to go US on tourist visa

and also I have short meeting with IT companies in US

What the purpose I have to tell to the officer

Whether just for tourism

or I have to mention about business also

I don't have strong bonds with the companies that I am goint to meet and they are not paying for my trip

So I don't have strong proof to show consulate officer

So what is best

Please help me to decide

  1. It is always best to tell the truth. the worst that would happen is that they'd just say no. On the other hand. if you lie and are discovered, you could be permanently barred from ever getting a visa. However, visitor visas B!/B2 are for tourism and temporary business reasons so your two reasons here are not incompatible and would not cause a problem.

  2. Believe it or not, telling the truth always is the best policy.  When you have your interview with the US consular officer be 100% honest.  Tell him/her, "I'd love to see a little of the United States and talk to a few employers in the IT industry about sponsoring me for an H1b visa."  Be prepared to present your IT credentials proving you've got the ability to get a job.

My guess is that most people walk in and try to blow smoke up the consular officer's ***.  They interview people all day, every day.  They can see right through a liar.

Treat them with respect and be honest and I'm sure they'll treat you the same way.

  3. If you go to work, you will need a letter from the company explaining the purpose of your visit, time, where will you be, which hotel.

If you go like tourist, you must tell them the time, which places, which hotels, without letter.

  4. if you also have short meeting with IT companies in US,tell them that also, it will probably be best to just say your reasons, tourist and business , and mention the co.' name if you are going to attend theses meetings .

you will have to show proof of theses meeting if you are going to attend them,it will help .

it matters not if you do not have strong ties to your co. that is personal to you .

  5. I couldn't have said it better than yak Rider already has, so I won't bother.  Please follow his advice.  I like his little script too.
