Question:

A question to Spaniards, do you think the King of Spain has a "posh" accent?

Here in the UK, whenever Elizabeth II, or any of the Royal Family make a speech, they always have very exageratted posh accents, some might described as Upper Class. When Juan Carlos I makes a speech, or any of the Spanish Royal Family, I was wondering whether they just sound normal to Spaniards, or whether, like the British Royal Family, they have any accent that sounds very posh and exageratted and maybe somewhat comical to the average Spaniard.

Thanks

  1. no...only the British are so stuck on their accents...using it to define their whole class structure.  In other countries it is not as important...unless it has a huge British influence...like India.  BTW I don't think the Queen's accent is posh.  Some people find it unbelievable ...like when she says KNOW...she pronounces it as Noo---eeeww...2 syllables.  She sounds all pinched up.
