  1. I know from my own experience I get the same thing that you do...my hip bone sticks out when I lye on the board and the next day or later on that day i have bruises and its all sore and raw. I have been surfing for a while now and know some one who works at a surf shop and he always tells me that you always have to have something covering your hip bone weather it be a wetsuit (helps a lot) or if you have board shorts that works to. If thats not helping before you go out  find something in your house that can be used as a cushion and sew it on in to the bathing suit or pin it with a saftey pin. It works 100% I know from my own experience and since i surf a  lot i always come prepared! good luck and stick with surfing

  2. you can wear board short and a rash guard or wet suit♥

  3. I have a short board, but I learned on a longboard.  I love that old longboards.  Sorry I can't help you.  I just don't worry about the bruising.

Maybe you could set the board in the hot sun.  Use a smooth  plastic spatula (or something similar).  Scrap off the old wax, which is usually pretty rough.  That may help.

    Enjoy the ride.

  4. aww- don't switch to being a surfer girl- boogie nation is the way to go :]  Bodyboarders can go higher, deeper, and spin faster. But enough about my disappointment that there's one less girl bodyboarder in the world...

I used to surf alot (I shortboarded) but fell in love with the boogie.   But I had the same problem. Actually, I still do from my bodyboard. My whole stomach, hip bones, and up near my ribs were bled whenever I came out of the water. So now, I wear a rashguard, which helps alot. My hip bones are still a little sore and bruised, but besides wearing a reaaallly thick wetsuit (which nobody wants to use in the summer anyway) there's nothing I can really do for it. I'm sure using a softboard will help ease the soreness though. However, as girls out in the water, we have to be tough... no pain, no game,  that's the way I ride.

  5. this is a massive problem i also have :S

but when i wear my wetsuit and boardshorts its not as bad as just in my bikini, i just put up with it :P
