Question:

A question to speaker Pelosi,?

In her speech to the Democratic National Convention tonight, Nancy Pelosi was at pains to underline that John McCain is “wrong” on the issue of energy. Setting aside that it’s tough to argue that there’s anything “wrong” with advocating a comprehensive, all of the above energy policy, I’ve noted before that John McCain voted against the 2005 energy bill which he said contained “irresponsible” handouts, while Barack Obama voted for it—and that Democrats like Senator Clinton, John Kerry and Chuck Schumer also criticized that bill and voted against it. But here’s an additional point of interest, in view of Obama’s selection of Joe Biden as his running mate: Biden also voted against the bill. That leaves me wondering, Madam Speaker, does that mean Joe Biden is also wrong on energy policy?

  1. At least no one can claim Pelosi is wrong on her energy policy, since she doesn't have one.

  2. Pelosi has several stakes in alternative energy companies..why else would she support them as passionately as she does.

  3. Obama's current stance on energy is absolutely a losing issue for him.  It is also an important issue that ranks high on the voters' list of priorities.  This is why McCain should not stop beating the drum of energy reform.

  4. If means that San Fran Nan is an idiot and should be booted from the House...  Too liberal (dumb) for her own good.

  5. It means she was making a point.....and it's part of politics.

  6. Joe Biden isn't running for president.

McCain's energy policy is basically a reversal, a flip-flop if you will, of his earlier opposition to drilling.

To make it clear, all he wants to do is drill so we can have marginally lower gas prices in 10 years.
