  1. And you honestly expect a reply?

  2. So what should the Russians have done when a region populated by Russian passport holders did not want to be subject to a government whose authority over them they did not recognise?  What would the USA have done if a bunch of US passport holders did not wish their territory to be annexed by a non-US government?  OK, so there is history and disputed territory in the Russia/Georgia squabble but the principle still holds.  It is too simple and dangerous to think in terms of black & white.  Life is more complicated than that.

  3. Ho yes it's all the talk in America and soon your question we be all the talk of Russia

  9. I think we have to discern the use of the word democracy. If you mean democracy, as in freedom of speech and the right to move around as and when you choose, then yes I believe Russia is frightened. However if you mean democratic government elected by the people for the people then Russia have displayed a willingness to walk along these lines. If on the other hand you are pertaining to the invasion of Georgia by the Russians, it has deeper underlying factors.

    1. Russia used to be a super power.

    2. Russia nearly bankrupted herself funding an arms race no-one wanted or needed.

    3. Russia, wants to be recognised as a super power again, and to do this she needs once again to annex satellite states, whether they want to be annexed or not.

Russia has vast gas supplies and other natural resources, and because of this you will see a lot of sabre rattling by our government and the USA but you will not see any action on behalf of Georgia or any of the other satellite states that Russia intends to re-annex. So to sum up and answer your question, I dont really think we can use the words Russia and democracy in the same sentence really??
