  1. The registry key you want to check is:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

Also check the same key in HKEY_Current_User

Please award me best answer since I'm the only one that answered your question and did not try to tell you to be VERY VERY Afraid!!!!

The registry is not that scary.

  2. It's not a very good idea to mess around with the registry if you know nothing about it,

you could cause serious damage to your system.

    get ccleaner,

in the tools there is a start up disable, use this to turn

    off programs start up entry...

    .

  3. RULE #1: if you don't know what you're doing while you're in the registry, don't do it. you need practice with a hobby machine (or virtual machine) first

click start, run, type msconfig and hit enter

farthest right tab or second from the right tab (depending on what SP you use) has startup programs on it that you can check or uncheck

  4. For that your would go under Start > Run > msconfig

Then go under the "Startup" Tab.
