A quick solution to becoming more humble?

Is there any kind of text out there in the internet that's pretty emotionally provocative that will help me become more humble?

By putting others needs ahead of your own, or doing volunteer work to help the needy or the homeless would be a start. Reading about anything only gives you the theory. It's through actively practicing anything that sets it in motion. You are already showing humility by seeking help.

Humility is a gift we receive from empathy.  Examine history and you will discover that power is transient, as as well as a state of mind.  The true purpose of reincarnation is learning.  Every human that that exists today has that responsibility.  We, who have been given opportunity to achieve means to assist those who are suffering are responsible for assisting the provision for intervention that will offer relief to the victims.  So, evaluate your largesse, and determine ways to share it.

I don't know of any text, but reviewing your past mistakes will usually do it. However, don't let it go so far in the other direction that you feel terrible about yourself.
