  1. Try some KY Jelly. Also, all boxes of tampons come with a paper leaflet that gives information on TSS and how to insert a tampon. Try to read the diagram. Also make sure you're not using a tampon with a super-big absorbency, start off with a regular. Sometimes though, I find I put the tampon in at an awkward angle and it can be uncomfortable. The best thing to do here is take it out and start over.

  2. I agree with everyone else, but one brand you should use is o.b.

Their tampons are for younger girls. They're made smaller than other tampons, so it doesn't hurt as much. When you put in the tampon, tilt it up towards you a little bit. Kind of like when you m********e. Don't wait 8 hours to take it out, though. You should change it every four to five hours, and wear a pad to bed. Never wear tampons to sleep, or they'll fill up too much and you won't get them out

  3. sounds weird, but put vaseline around it to lubricate it and look in a mirror to see where you are going.  it is tough to learn how to put them in, but it will get easier. :)

  4. its really easy once you figure it out. try looking in a mirror when you put it in, thats what helped me when i first tried it. and tampons are so much easier than pads! just dont forget to take them out within 8 hours! also, u should use plastic at first, they're much easier!

  5. I found inserting a tampon was easier for me laying on my back on the bed when i first started using them, then you get confident putting them in,  try it standing up with one leg raised n the toilet seat. Try insertng the tampons with KY jelly on the tip, it hurts if your dry.

Dont use vaseline...it is petroleum based. Use a water based product such as KY jelly.

  6. Buy tampons that come with an applicator.

Make sure you are relaxed when you insert the tampon. When you are tense, the muscles in you v****a are contracted, making it more painful to insert and take out your tampon.

Don't over think it. Just stick it in.

    When removing it, pull gently.

Bend your legs a bit, and curve you spine when you insert, and take it out. This opens up you pelvis, making it easier to put the tampon in.

Just don't be worried about it. Tampons are miracles and have saved my life. (Imagine a ballerina wearing a pad and panties with her leotard and tights) I'm the same age as you, and I started my period around the same age as you did. It's really uncomfortable when you first start using tampons, but you get used to it.

  7. Try putting your foot on something (i.e. toilet, side of the bathtub) it makes insertion a little easier. Relax your muscles because if you tighten up it's not going to go in smoothly.
