    For example, multiplying some number of hours by the conversion factor 60 minutes/1 hour converts that number of hours to an equivalent number of minutes. Other conversion factors are 2.54 centimeters/ 1 inch and 5280 feet/1 mile

    The 1's are generally understood, and so aren't written; we say "60 minutes per hour", etc.
