  1. wing chun kung fu can get you some really fast hands

    also thai boxing or boxing

  2. if by "fast" you mean the quickest to learn the basics in?

boxing- without question, it has the least amount of different strikes-

now to become "competant" is a whole different animal to becoming "good" and fine tunining things.

you can learn proper form on how to punch for jabs, hooks, uppercuts, crosses in a single day- the skill comes in the repetative training of the offensive hand strikes that makes you a better fighter-

boxing power generation would be an immediate compliment to any other skillset you already posess.

    THEN

the defense and movement is another level but even that you can learn the basics well before learning the basics of another striking style.

the key is again- repetative practice in order to master these.

  3. I'm a fan of American Kenpo. It bears resemblance to Aikido and tae kwon do. it is a fast, aggressive, mostly fist and lock based art. the kicks are there but they arent as relied upon as in arts like tae kwon do and tang soo do.

I took 5 years of kenpo during and after college and loved it.

  4. There are not fast martial arts, only fast martial artists. Whatever style you practice will only be as fast as YOU make it. A common mix in the Cage circuits is Grappling and Mui Tai.

  5. Well speed comes more from the person than the actual martial art. But if you want to try a style where speed is emphasized as part of the style you could go with Tae Kwon Do, Wing Chun, Boxing and Krav Maga.

  6. Karate, kempo, krav maga, kung fu are just a few striking styles.  You will only get fast with practice. Everyone starts out slower and gets faster over time.

  7. "Martial Arts" are not really fast or slow, people are fast or slow.

You can have two guys that do Tae Kwon Do, one can be fast, the other slow.

It's the person, not the style.

    James

  8. grappling is not making you any faster your just slowing the fight down if you are interested for speed you should try woshu  or tae kwan do
