A really simple question: LED's?

Ok so I recently purchased these:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&item=170235673884

And it came with resistors.

I am trying to splice these with other LED's I already have installed, which just have a red and black wire running to them in my car, no resistor or metal or anything like this. What do I do? I dont have a soldering gun, but I do have electric tape.

Can I just poke the long LED leg through the original positive and the short leg in the negative?

Thanks

  1. To be on the safe side, you would want to connect one of the resistors that you received with the LED's to the long leg of the LED and then to the red wire.  The other leg directly to the black wire. Exactly how you connect them is not too important as long as the wires are connected well.  Just poking the LED lead into the wire will not work too well.  You need to "strip" the plastic coating off the wire with a knife or wire strippers.

I would recommend getting a inexpensive soldering kit and soldering the connections though.  It will be more reliable.

Here is some info I found online:
