I recently finished my MS in the USA. I have worked here for about 4-5 months, and now I am thinking of going back to India permanently. I am a IT professional, and believe there are good opportunities in India, and plus, I can stay at home. Most people are against my decision. Can anyone suggest what to do?

  1. Without knowing about life in India, I can't answer for you.  If I was you I would make a list of the negatives and positives of going back to India.  It really comes down to what will make you the happiest. I would be leery of using the word "permanently", it seems so final and inflexible.

  2. work wise I think it's fine. There's lots going on. But do you really want to stay at home??? It sounds wonderful when you're far away from family etc. but if you are a woman you will be happier if you are living at the other end of town (or even in another city) and just go visit them on weekends or something. Otherwise, no matter how lovely they are, your family will drive you nuts.

If you are a guy, by all means go home. Your parents will feed you and do your laundry and find you "a nice girl".
