“Un Seen”

I am perched above a waterfall,

In amongst some ferns and leaning on a mossy rock

Contemplating life with the wind of time

Blowing gently on my face,

The vision growing weak but the spirit still remains

And in the distance – not too far I hear some soft refrains

And my hearing strains

To hear the sounds around me echo.

Now down below I feel a presence so I flatten down to see

What is happening as it unfolds in delicate shades of youth?

Into the field a young girl has run she twirls around having fun

As though she owns the world, her stage

And I am invisible on this page.

She stomps around in her brown suede boots

Pounding the dirt and the wilted flowers

Her blouse is billowing in the breeze

As she twirls and whirls enchantingly

In the empty field between the trees

It brings back haunting memories of how I used to be

So innocent footloose and problem free.

So dance and stomp and seize the day

Don’t let that magic drift away,

Hold and cherish this memory.

explanation.

This, I woke up with this morning and could not stop it from playing in my brain. I tried to recapture the essence however I lost some of the flow and direction once my brain had fully woken up.
