A riddle, that no one knows...

Question

Someone said a riddle to me and my friends and none of us could figure out the answer, and I don't know if he said it wrong or what but here it is:

A little girl lives all alone in a big house, with her guardian. She can go anywhere in the house, but her guardian says that there is one door she cannot open, and if she does, she will see something she shouldn't see. One day she opens the door, what does she see?

Wait, does she live all alone, or w/her gaurdian.  I'm confused.

She wouldn't be able to open it. "her guardian says that there is one door she cannot open". She can go anywhere in the house. The guardian would have said "there is one door you may not open" ha ha hope this helps!

This riddle is too general. As the answer conatins too many possibilities I would guess that the riddle was told wrong.

However, if you read your first sentence, the contradiction between "alone" and "with her guardian" immediatly negates the existance of the guardian and as such she might see that her guardian is a ghost or not real.

Then again, judging by the poor wording of the riddle, I will stay with the answer that it is not a real riddle.

She can go anywhere in the house, but can't open one door.  That would mean if there was a room or closet on the other side of the house, she could go in it, but since she can't open that door, then whatever is on the other side must not be in the house.  But what is outside that she should not see?   Possibly the way out of the house, which she is not supposed to leave.

But how can she open the door if she cannot open it.  That does not make any sense.
