Question:

A-rod Sucks!? 10 points best opinion?

Im such a diehard yankees fan and today's game really killed me. The perfect situation. No outs, men on first and second with arod at the plate. What does he do? His usual double play! the 11th this month! He has those great numbers but only in non-clutch situations! They should bench him for atleast one game. I have more faith in Betemit than him in clutch situations. Your opinions?

  1. The dude is a poison. If the Yankees wanna catch up to the Red Sox or Rays they should just leave him on their doorstop and say they can have him for free. If the Yankees were smart they would have let him go to Anaheim or Boston but they're too arrogant so they took him back instead of investing in something useful like a dozen rosin bags or a protective plastic bubble to put around Carl Pavano. I have more faith in Richie Sexson hitting righty than A-Rod with men in scoring position. A-Rod looks more confused in the batters box than Roger Clemens on Capitol Hill. The dude needs to get lost and go play in Kansas City.

  2. As a Red Sox fan...I have always hated him...I greatly respect his talent but he has never been a clutch player. Jeter hits squibs, duck farts and flairs, but they always seem to be at the right time.

Jeter is Mr. Clutch and he has only a portion of the immense potential of A Rod!

A Rod is the best player of our time but his psyche gets the best of him most the time.

To his credit...it is not easy to be paid that much money and not feel the pressure.

  3. Well, personally I did not like their choice in bringing him back this season and giving in to him. Now he's locked up for 10 years in NY. So, whether you like it or not, get used to it. What I really don't get is why Yankee fans are so adamant about him. What did you expect? This guy has NEVER been good in the clutch. And he probably never will be. It's kind of hard for a guy to just flip the switch and start tearing it up when all he gets is booed and is just simply not the kind of player who is going to do what is needed in those situations. But I got a good idea for Yankee fans. Why don't you start booing your pitching because that's what is making every single game a struggle. In my honest opinion, alot of pressure would be taken off this guy if the bullpen and most of the starters would stop squandering leads. In short, A-Rod cannot handle pressure, so find someone else in your star-studded batting order to jump on.

  4. Hey what can we do 10 more years with the yanks.

  5. Keep him with the Yanks.  For as long as you want.  I like this Yankee-less October thing.  It sounds good.

    RED SOX ALL THE WAY!!!

  6. im a met fan but i even know he dosent suck. hes gonna be one of the greatest hitters ever. hes just a terrible clutch player. he always chokes in the playoffs as well.

  7. I agree. I think a few days off may benefit him. He plays almost in every game so he should get at least a few days off (despite making millions).

Don't worry, he should get his act together soon. If not now, maybe next season.

  8. Overrated and overpaid. I've always thought that and always will.

  9. he is tremendous 3rd basebam, but dont get me wrong, when it comes down to a tight game he is terrible! he sure aint no manny

  10. HE SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  11. He is good man he does really suck when it comes to scoring postion zzz

  12. arod is the most overatted player in history. I mean come on he is having a horrible season. He cant play in playoffs for his life and he is the richest contract in history

  13. Take A-Rod out of that Yankee lineup and you'd be at a minimum 5 games deeper in the hole than you are now. Last year the Yankees wouldn't have made the playoffs without him. Fickle fans act as if every single hit he gets, every run he drives in, every home run he smacks is meaningless. Which, of course, is utter nonsense. When it comes to this player people have the worse case of selective memory.

If he didn't have such a large contract no one would complaining about a guy who routinely hits over .300 with 40 homers, 120 RBI's and over 100 runs scored a year. Regardless of how much money he makes, he's still contributing in a big way. So sure, go ahead and dump on the man. I'd take him on my team any day - as would practically every other MLB team.

  14. ok yes arod had sucked in the clutch the season.  but last season he was the only batter (beside jeter) that u wanted up in the ninth inning.  and now this year he is back to sucking in the ninth inning.  there is not possibility of a trade cause no one wants to pay him 30mil and the yankees are not stupid enough to trade him away and still pay some of the money.  arod just dosent produce in the clutch this year get used to it, but if you are going to bo him when he strikes out don't cheer him when he hits the home run.  and knowing how hard he works he will eventually get better in the clutch on a more constant basis

  15. this is really getting old

    since arod sucks

when arod hits home runs dont cheer

all theese yankee fans saying that trade arod and stuff please stop it

this double play was just bad luck in that he hit it hard but to a player

  16. Lol you bring up a good point. Don't you guys wish you guys still had Alfonso Soriano? Guy comes cheaper than A-Fraud, and he comes through with the game on the line, also with a lot of speed added along. I agree totally that he's overrated, overpaid, and whatever the heck people can say about me.Thumb me down all you want, Yankee Fans, but I,m just speaking facts about Alex's questionability leadership-wise

  17. Everybody, let's be fair to the guy.  Last year he was good in the clutch; he got several big hits in the regular season.  You know, when he was looking for a new contract.  Now that he got it, he's back ti being the ORod of old.

    He's just a dog.

  18. Ok, if he grounded into a DP that means that the tying run was at third with two outs.  Who failed to get him in?  Clearly someone else choked in the clutch as well.

  19. i am speech less they dont score 1 ******* run 1 and 2nd no one out 3-2 count ahhh

  20. Put Him on the 60 day DL so that he doesnt take up a roster spot.

  21. yes he isn't hitting in the clutch but hes still a good player and who blew the game for the Yanks. THERE PITCHING. Yes A-Rod isn't hitting when it counts but its there pitching that causes them to lose. For all those people who say A-Rod is having a bad year. Look at his stats

    306 BA

    28 HR

    80 RBI

Yeah hes sure having a bad year.
