  1. You might try Boeucc; it's the oldest restaurant in Milan (since 1696) - near the Duomo and La Scala. The website is mostly in Italian, but there's an English translation of the menu. http://www.boeucc.it/ (try the risotto)

Da Giacomo on Via Sottocorno is also very good. The family that runs it  have done a good job with bothe the food and the decor. http://www.ristorantedagiacomo.it/menu.a...

or you could have a candle light dinner at the Osteria Giussani al Naviglio sofferto on Via Ludovico al Moro - excellent pastas.

Another option is Il Rigolo: http://www.rigolo.it/RigoloEnglish/rigol...

  2. The Orso Bruno is about 10 miles from Milan. So, if you've got a car it's woth the drive to Monza. The steaks are tops and the pizza the best.

For Milanese specialities then try the "Antico Ristorante La Pobbia": via Gallarate 92, tel. 02.38006641

In case you are in the mood for sushi: There's a great little sushi bar called Sushi Hiro and it on Viale Legioni Romane, 55 in Milan (closed Monday's).
