A rookie at jogging! answer please. lol?

okay so ima jogg on my own for the first time. Do people usually go alone? or they would wanna go with someone else? & if this is my first time how long should i jog for since my body is not use to it? =]

  1. You can go on your own.  It's often better to go with someone so you have someone to pass the time with.  And they'll motivate you to keep going.

    Try 2-3 miles to start.  Go nice and slow and teach your body how to breathe.

  3. if safety is a concern, you may want to team up with a buddy.

    but if you are able to jog alone in a relatively safe environment, go for it! it can be a good way to clear your mind. sometimes jogging with a partner is challenging because you may feel more compelled to chat, this often results in slowing down & therefore not getting a very effective workout.

    don't try to overdo it at first either. maybe start with 10-20 minutes to see what your body can handle. over time you will get a feel for what works for you. if you overdo it right at the beginning you are much less likely to stay with it for very long.
