I have this fish that I've had for such a long time. He's my only pet, and ive grown verry close to the stupid little thing over the last while. He's dying from Dropsey I think, and Ive treated him with Maracyn-Two, and it looks like it's not helping. I don't want to eauthanize him. Is there any way I can make Bear ( my red capped Oranda) feel more comfortable. I hate seeing him like this.

  1. Actually. Try epsom salt ( a human med) he could just be very bloated, and not have dropsy.

you never know, it might save him.

  2. im so sorry, i think maybe you should put him back in the aquarium and just turn off the bubbler? it's bigger which would make it more comfortable.

    maybe you should join http://thegab.org/forum

they're experts and should be able to help you out =]

  3. That sucks, but get him some Hyper Maracyn-Two Fighter...it isn't easy to find but it helps a LOT! Trust me, my fish was dying of it and wow it was like fixed in 10 seconds it was so amazing

  4. Are you sure he is dying?

Try going to www.kokosgoldfish.com, make an account, and post in the 911 section.  They are really experienced there and could possibly help you.  Good luck.

  5. Try some Aquarium Salts...They work great with bacterial and fungal infections. Just read the directions and measure out the pellets.

Good luck, just be gentle, patient, and hope for the best. I hope he'll make it. I've grown attached me my bettas and bawled with one died of Fin Rot.

  6. Use some aquarium salt , and don't euthanize him ,let him live until he goes naturally. He will die when he is ready , I promise you.

  7. Awww, that's really sad. Put in some nice plants and that'll make it feel more natural. If he's in alot of pain then you'll have to euthanise him.

  8. I'm so sorry, but I don't think so. If he is not recovering, it is the best and kindest thing you can do to put him down. :(

  9. u have to flush him, sorry but u have to face the facts...

the salt water may help, (if he makes it to the ocean)

    but probably not

Sorry about your friend.   I think I'd let him go naturally.  Just keep doing your best, or do what you think is best.
