  2. The molecular weight can be found by using the ideal gas law.

    PV = n R T

    n = m / M , where m = mass in g and M = molecular weight (or molar mass) in g/mol.

    PV = m R T / M

    M = m R T / P V =

    1.73 g x 0.08206 L atm / K mol x 395 K / (1.00 atm x 2.00 L) = 28.0 g/mol.
