A scary bug does anyone know what this is?

It&#039;s hard to tell, because the photo is so dark.  The &quot;green&quot; gloss also throws me off a little.  Not knowing where you live and what kind of area you live in, makes it also difficult to identify.

If it was a large insect (about 2&quot; long), with a blue-black body, and orange wings, I&#039;d know EXACTLY what it was.  It IS a wasp, there&#039;s no doubt about that, but what kind of wasp?  Let me know if that&#039;s the case and try and send me a better photo and I&#039;ll identify it for you.

You have nothing to fear.  It&#039;s obviously dead.
