  2. My daughter who is 4, goes to pre-k for half a day.  She gets up with her 6 year old brother at about 7:45 and they get on the bus at 8:25.  They eat breakfast and lunch at school.  My 4 year old gets home about 12:30.  From there we go over what she did  at school that day and we go over the alphabet and numbers for about 15 minutes.  She takes an hour nap at 1:30.  She gets up has a snack and watches cartoons.  Her brother gets home at 4:15 and they go outside and play until dinner at 6.  After dinner is bath time and if there is any time left I will let them get a movie in until 9.  9 is bedtime and we do it all over again the next day.

  3. My staff use the High/Scope curriculum in their preschool classrooms.  The children enter the classroom at 8:30 which is greeting time.  They have a circle time and wash their hands and get ready for breakfast which is at about 9:00.  After breakfast around 9:20 the teachers put the children in a small group to have planning time which is when the children plan what they are going to work on for work time.  Work time last for about 45 minutes.  During work time the children complete their plans and the teachers have table activities available for children to do if they choose.  Around 10:30 they have a recall time where the teachers do an activity to help children recall what they did during work time.  They discuss if they completed their plan and other things they did during work time.  At 10:45 they have an outside time.  They come back into the center around 11:00-11:10 and do a small group activity which is a teacher directed activity where something new is introduced to the children.  After small group they prepare for lunch by having a story time.  Teachers discuss the story with children while children are washing their hands for lunch.  After lunch they will have a large group time where they sing songs, read books, dance or play instrument.  Some of the classrooms leave around noon while others stay for the afternoon.  Those staying longer will have a nap time around 1:15.
