How to those of you that had Pacman winning explain this?

Total punches landed: Marquez= 172 of 511 - 34%

Pacman= 157 of 619 - 25%

Total jabs landed: Marquez= 42 of 201 - 21%

Pacman= 43 of 314 - 14%

Total POWER punches landed: Marquez= 130 of 310 - 42%

Pacman= 114 of 305 - 37%

If you tell me the knockdown decided the fight the you know nothing about boxing, fights aren't won by one good round.

  1. those stats dont tel the fight...however marquez did win that fight as well as the first!

  2. I think you should talk to the judges, maybe they don't know anything about boxing like you said, right?

    Manny was more aggressive than Marquez tonight and I think that's one reason why he won.

  3. Dont be a smart@ss girl above me.

    marquez was robbed, and there will not be a third fight no reason pacman will fight david diaz next and if he wins that fight (he will) he will fight de la hoya. After september of course

  4. dude do u feel how its like 2 be robbed just like how pacman got robbed in the 1st fight??? well thats how u feel right now we did not like the decision of the 1st fight but we did not complain the same u are doing right now, we waited for this 4 yrs 2 kill ur hero, the same he killed ur past legends so shut up and wait 4 ur next oppurtunity if there is...

    manny pacquiao

    1. the best pound 4 pound boxer

    2. mexican legend killer (morales, barrera, marquez)

  5. i agree with u i feel manny should of won the first fight marquez 2nd

  6. sounds like most of you think Manny won the fight by a long shot,some of you thought he won the first one.so you trusted the judges this time but not the first time when they all agreed,your logic is flawless.

    he lost by a point that could have gone either way(should have gone the other way)

    i love how tyson II contradicts him self in that mess,by saying it doesn't matter how much you punch a guy if he knock you down,then at the end he says its scored round by round.so tyson you smart *** how many times was Marquez knocked down in the first fight.....and what was the outcome of that fight...

    as for you drew we all know wikipedia is always right.also did you not watch the fight,Marquez was equally aggressive(if not more) as pacman.

    Too answer your question Chris,it happened because, as you and i know, judges are not perfect and sometimes even they are swayed by the crowd.

  7. To be honest i don't think anybody really cares.

    The fight is over and there is nothing anybody can do about the decision.

    I personally scored the fight as a draw and would be more than happy to see a 3rd fight.

    Now we can either do two things and thats sit on are backsides and cry about it or get on with the rest of our lives.

  8. Complain it to the judges....I hope you dont lose bigtime on the bet....

  9. Would you even show some spirit of sportmanship here. He won and that's it.  You think you are better than those judges then go and replace them.  You think you are better than them then go tell them!!!

  10. Come on children, loser is a loser, In trinidad vs dela Joya years ago, Oscar tought Tito how to boxed but Oscar lost because Trinidad showed that Oscar cannot hurt him. Same goes with Peñalosa vs Ponce de Leon,Gerry was better boxer but de Leon was more persistent, so de Leon was the champ. Get the idea?

  11. In the fight they said the judge counted the bleeding too and MArquez was pretty busted

  12. Thats right!!!!

  13. I AGREE.  Also Marquez was the WBC Champion and should not have lost, SINCE HE WON the COMPUBOX #'s.  This fight should have been a DRAW.

  14. I guessed it falls on my shoulders to educate you regarding boxing scores. Accumulated amount of punches is not a good measurement on who won a round. Case in point, you can throw 100 punches in a round and land all of it while your opponent only threw 10 punches, and 4 of those punches puts you on the floor, thus the score for that round will look like this, 10-6 in favor of the lesser amount puncher. Get it? Let's try another one. A boxer threw 100 and landed 100 punches in a round while his opponent threw 10 and landed same amount. The score for that round will be 10-9 in favor of the boxer with more punches. On the following round, the boxer who threw 100 punches from the previous round decided to cut down on his punches and only threw 1 while his opponent threw twice more. Since 2 is more than 1 then the round will be counted in favor of the boxer who threw 2 punches.  Let us assumed  this pattern continued all the way to the end of the match. If you count the punches, the guy who threw 100 punches in a single round will still have the most numbers of punches thrown but on the scorecard he lost majority of the rounds. Is that clear enough for you? Boxing matches is scored base on round-by-round and not on number of punches thrown/landed. A knockdown will let you win a round but can not be used as a gauge for the whole match.  The scores between Pacquiao and Marquez  was not a result of a single knockdown but it gave advantage to Pacquiao since the scores were almost even from start to finish.

  15. They both were so good,But I agree I think Marquez should of won.

  16. yipee! we won---jaja---better luck next time! wait another 4 years, ok?

  17. There is more to scoring a boxing match than what you have outlined in  your question - total punches landed, total jabs landed, and total power punches landed.  The referee will also look at other factors such as how the aggressive the boxer is.  Additionally, a boxer's defense strategy is another factor in the scoring.

    Just take a look at this excerpt from Wikipedia's definition of how boxing is scored.

    "Up to three judges are typically present at ringside to score the bout and assign points to the boxers, based on punches that connect, defense and knockdowns."

  18. marquez should have won it waht a shame we get to here more c**p coming out of the pacman nuthuggers mouth
