Question:

A serious question about immigrant visa interview next week!?

I have some concerns about the interview:

1- Our marriage certificate. According to US laws, you have to be present at the time of marriage. but our marriage was in the absence of my husband, however he signed the marriage certificate by himself. We had to do it, for some visa problems. I am worried what if they find out. However when we got my daughter's US citizenship, no body questioned our marriage certificate, as it's not mentioned there. But in the interview if they ask how was your marriage ceremony, I am so concerned what to say??? As if I tell the truth my visa will be canceled.

2- My husband the american citizen, is now on a temporary visa in UK with me. He was working for an american company at the time we filed the affidavit of support , but now he has changed his company, and if I mention that he may have a problem of proving domicile!!! So I am so worried about that too.

Can you give me some advice please? I really can't sleep at all. I'm so scared if I s***w it up.

  1. You are right to be worried, as you have not met the legal requirements for the immigration benefits you are attempting to seek - it is commonly referred to as fraud, and you are doing this knowingly .  Can you proceed and simply lie on your documents and to the Consular officer?  Certainly.  Will your deceit be discovered and will there be official repercussions?  Most likely - the Consular officers are trained to detect deception, and they have little compassion for those who elect to circumvent the law.
