No. The cuts are on the skin, superficial, so you can't die from them.

No, believe it or not its like a miracle that the kind of place I lived in for most part of my life when I understood, I just knew lots of our neighbourhood boys and the other of the same community did do Zanjeer Zani(as its called). And its just like a miracle that no one I know even got killed or something like that happened to any of them, people believed that Allah doesn't want the blame to be over the people's love and grief with respect for Ahlebait.

Since I know no one got killed because of that, I don't have any answer for the secound question.

And I think you didn't get much answers from Shia's cause they are Sick of questions like this.

I can't re-call if any have died, however affliction is wrong, I just hope people will realise that. However I have spoken to a couple of Shia and they say they can barely feel the pain.

A lot

Shia'a are two types:

-Know the truth about Shia'aizm and follow for a benefit (s*x, money or power) - those never die in Muharram or even do Latum (ex Shia'a scholars)

-sheep (Allah's description in Quraan not mine) who know nothing about that Kuffur so-called religion - many of them killed their children in Muharram {my father witnessed such situation)

May Allah guide the second type and burn the first in his deep heel

In Sawaiq al Muhriqa page 177, Imam of Ahl ul Sunnah Ibn Hajr al-Makki al-Haythami records this event that took place during Hadhrath Umar's khilafath:

"Once two land owners approached Umar with a dispute. Umar called 'Ali and asked that he resolve the matter. Imam 'Ali resolved the dispute, and one of the individuals said, 'This man ['Ali] is going to decide between us?' Upon hearing this Hadhrath Umar grabbed the individual by the collar and said 'Don't you know who this individual is? He is the Maula of me, you and all Momin's, and whoever does NOT take him to be his Maula is not a momin (believer)"
