A short vacation in Madrid?

I'm going to be in Madrid for a week (second week of May), and I have already searched for what to do while I'm there but I want some first hand advice from people who have been there.

How's the weather in Madrid in early May?

What not to miss while I'm there?

Chilly in the mornings... I was there last May, and I actually broke out a jacket some mornings, but it warms up pretty quickly.  We saw one day of light drizzle, and it was sunny the rest of the time.
