A shout-out for Quiet Oasis in the Royal Heroine Mile Stakes
After finishing second in the Grade 1 Gamely Stakes on 28th May, 2012, it looks like Quiet Oasis will be aiming to bounce back and take the money home in the Grade 2 Royal Heroine Mile Stakes, which is due to take place on 7th July, 2012, at the Betfair Hollywood Park.
In the Gamely Stakes, the filly tried her best to take the lead in the 1 1/8 mile race, but she fell short and missed the victory to the Simon Callaghan trained, Belle Royale, by a narrow margin of half-length.
She led for the most part of the race, but Belle Royale caught up to her in the closing stages, and gave her a serious run for her money.
Now, the Ben Cecil trained filly will take on a shorter distance of 1 mile in this scheduled event, where she will compete against seven other competitors.
With rider, Mario Gutierrez on her back, the four-year-old will try to win, which she has a good chance of doing, since she has dominated this distance before in the Grade 3 Wilshire Handicap on 29th April, 2012.
At the Betfair Hollywood Park, Quiet Oasis was ruthless when she covered a mile in 1 minute and 34.63 seconds to win the Wilshire Handicap.
The Irish bred filly, who is under the ownership of Reddam Racing will race with be the second high-weight of 119 pounds.
There are chances that she might be the pace-setter in this event, but she might be challenged by Up In Time, a Great Britain-bred filly trying her luck in this race.
Trained by Simon Callaghan, the four-year-old recently competed in the Grade 1 Just A Game Stakes on 9th June, 2012, at Belmont Park which covered a distance of 1 mile.
Finished in fourth, her performance was commendable considering she is up against some of the toughest runners.
Up In Time will race under 121 pounds, and she will be joined in weights by Jerry Hollendorfer’s charge City to City and the Ronald L. McAnally trained All Star Heart while the John A. Shirreffs trained, Nereid is racing with 123 pounds.
