  1. You're lucky that you live in an area that you don't need a car.

Where I live that's not an option if I expect to go to work.

  2. You can thank our Democratic Congress.

  3. Up until Carter, coffee was a dollar something for large can,Gas was under a dollar, candy bars were 25 cents.Beer was cheaper than a can of soda pop, 35 cents for a soda, pay phones were a dime, and a penny could still buy you something. Then came the Opec and gas wars, and the failed sugar tax(which was the first attempt for the govt to control obesity etc) but the prices never went down after that.

ps 100 bucks filled up my 2003 silverado p/up with a 24 gallon tank,it avgs.@ 21-24 gallons per the city.

  4. And in Washington state, no less -- one of the most liberal states in the country.

Who'd have thunk it?   Since the liberals are so (supposedly) in favor of helping out the poor and working class, one would think that they would NEVER allow such a terrible thing.

    .

  5. And the question is?

  6. All I can say is that with signs like that I am worried about our government. Does the person who put up that sign vote?? Is this supposed to be a joke or doesn't somebody know here the decimal point is supposed to go?????

This person is either person that thinks this if funny, or doesn't know the sign wrong!!!! You do you think someone like this would vote for????

The sign should be $4.117/ gallon (Decimal point in the wrong palce.)

  7. "All I can say is: "I'm glad I don't own a car." .....

    This is alright .....

    "All I can say is "I'm glad I own a car."=)

    Don't worry, it's old car.

But I don't riding around to much.

  8. What we need is a better transportation system. I'm not daunted by the price because it's over nine dollars in Europe. When I was two, and living in Italy, gas was already the price it is in America.

But what's the difference between us and them? They can hop on a train and reach Germany in two hours. People in France can go to London during the Christmas in two hours. People in France can get to Switzerland in one hour. And yet, we, in America, take eight hours from Georgia to Pennsylvania, a possible three or four days to get from Florida to California. Airliners are so expensive, we don't get the luxury of going from Georgia to California in a couple hours flat. But the transporation system in Europe is so cheap, it just costs a couple of pounds to get from Germany to Switzerland.

And thus the value of the American dollar depreciates.
