A simple costume for a Superheros party? All suggestions welcome!!!?

Question

I have a 30th birthday party to go to, and the theme is 'Superheros' but I don't want to hire a costume and I don't want to wear lycra!!

What I'm hoping for, are some suggestions for 'simple' superhero costumes, that I can make up from clothes I already have.

I have a talented partner who can paint my face, he's really good at body paint in fact. He can make simple props for me as well if need be.

Any suggestions, silly or otherwise would be much much appreciated :)

maybe something like wonderwoman's costume? Something similar can be easily managed I'd assume. you could do a miniskirt with a corset top, knee-high boots, tiara, and a cloak.

Go as Batman, wear black leggings and a black t-shirt and then make a cardboard yellow B to be stuck on the front. It wont cost you alot either asyou probably have the items in your closet already.

Wear a suit. If they ask you who you are.. say you're Superman in disguise.
