A smoker getting surgery tomorrow under local and sedation, am I okay?

I am getting surgery tomorrow on a cyst on my tailbone. I smoke about 4-5 cigarettes a day. However, I smoked this morning and smoked hookah last night. I am 19 and consider myself relatively healthy.

I am only going under sedation and local anesthesia, will I be okay?

h**l yea ..you will be fine!...all of this propaganda about cigs is bullcrap....when i was young...everybody smoked...even doctors.. you can not believe all you are told!

You will be fine I smoke the hookah all the time and I having my second surgery on my Pilonidal Cyst next Friday. You will be fine. Good luck on your surgery.

i've had 3 surgeries in the last 2 years, and I smoke about a pack a day. I was fine - you should be too. But if you only smoke 4 to 5 cigs a day you really should try to quit. Wish I could. Good luck on your surgery and hope all goes well. Make sure to get some good meds for after care recovery :)
