  1. The snail will have infiltrated your tank via the plant. You must remove it immediately, before it has had time to lay eggs. They don't produce eggs on their own, but you don't know what layed it's eggs on your plants.

Your Guppy is most probably pregnant. You must isolate it before it is bothered by the others.

  2. i dont know bu get that snail out of you tank fastif not youll have about a million snails in your tank very soon

  3. Guppies relatively don't live long anyway, and from the sounds of it, he's on his way out.

Aslong the other fish are fine, there's no need to investergate.

Yes oxygrenated plants or simply live plants do carry snails, and unless you get a snail remover, there going to be there and they will breed. But they are handy as they eat left over fish food and algae.

going onto your plant, I don't expect you have a CO2 system?. For your plant to survive you need a CO2 system to make carbon dioxide for your plant. Here's a great lad on a thread I go on called Reptile Forum UK, who knows alot about fish and here's his care sheet on setting up a planted tank:

So I'd give that a check. E-mail me for anymore help.

  4. your snail has come in with the plant, this happened to me and within a couple of months my tank was swamped with them they look horible when theres that many so i suggest that you get it out of your tank, also dont know wots up with the fish maybe he doesnt like the snail, hehe

  5. The snail was tucked away on your plant.  It will eat algea and whatever food the guppies might miss.  I had the exact thing happen to me, but without a lot of subsequent snail population.  I think guppies will eat the snail eggs, given the opportunity.  I recently added wild crawdads (crayfish, crawfish, etc.) and one of them ate the snail.  So, in my experience the snail didn't cause much of a pestilence, but i have heard that they can.

  6. the snail came on the plant

plus i would get it out they breed like flys

my friend had a major problem with snails she started with like 3 then she had like 50

  7. get rid of the snail as soon as possible ur filter should do the job also an algae eater would do the job(there nice to have). the guppy is not getting enough oxygen because u most likely have a tall but skinny tank the rectangular tanks that are wide have a better oxygen leval so keep that in mind. I hope i helped u have the answer u r looking for

  8. Snails keep the tank clean.  Think of them as little vacuum cleaners doing you a massive favour.

  9. my friend has 2 snails and they clean the cage and stuf and they've never reproduced so i have no clue what these people are talking about

  10. the snail was on the plant. they do multiply like rabbits so if you don't want a tank full of snails, you better get it out! they eat the algae though.

as for the fish... it might've claimed the corner of the tank as it's "area". fish are territorial and pick spots in the tank to "hang out" in.

if you notice any discolorations or white spots on your fish... i'd go to the pet store to see what they recommend.

  11. We bought fish once from pet smart and ended up with snails too. We were told the best way to get rid of it was to get a bigger fancy gold fish and they will eat the snails. This probably isn't the best way but it is what pet smart told us.
