She has been checking my email for months and I have recently found out. She has told me she printed all the emails she has read and is threatening to pass them around for others to read. Is there anything I can legally do about this. I feel like it is a total invasion of privacy!

  1. idk if u can do anythin about it but that is rude. especially if she isnt ur friend. y dont u tell ur parents 2 talk to her parents?

  2. Simple...call her parents and rat her out.  She'll get punished and even if she passes a few out, who's side will they be on, yours or your ex-friend?

  3. Get her to put what she has done in writing so you have some legal recourse if you need it.  I don't understand why anyone at her age would be doing something so juvenile.  Does she have mental impairment?  Have you asked her why she is doing this and what she feels she has to gain by doing this?  Close your email account.  Open a new one.  Give her no information on how to contact you via email in the future.  I would say if necessary even sever all ties with this chick.  She isn't firing all cylinders.

  4. Kick her ***!

    Yeah, definitely not a friend.

  5. a real friend would never, ever do that. If you have alot of money you may be able to hire a lawyer.........blackmail is illegal. What does she want from you?

  6. change your password to a "smart password" (one that uses symbols as well as numbers and capital letters. for ex:  jE@nn1e  or trUst_no1! or lilbiT*2008) so that it is harder for someone to guess.

then contact a lawyer to see if your friend is guilty of breaking any laws or will be guilty of breaking any laws if she carries out her threat.  you'll want to talk to someone who is up on cybercrime--the police department isn't always current there.

if you and your friend are minors then get your parents involved especially if you are venturing into legal territory.
