A soap film is transparent and doesn't absorb any color. If such a film reflects blue light, what kind of light does it transmit? (Select all that apply.)

  1. if such a film reflects blue colour then it will be absorbing all of the colours except blue and white because without blue colour white light cannot be constructed


  2. White light is made up of red, blue and green.

    So, if blue is reflected, and nothing is absorbed, that leaves red and green to be transmitted.

    Yellow is not a primary color of light -- yellow comes about by a combination of red and green.   So, technically I guess you could check red, green and yellow, since any of those would be transmitted.

    It seems counterintuitive if you were raised on ziplock commercials (yellow and blue make green) ...
