Im going to DR and I will be shopping there, and was wondering what the price of day to day products are there. Example, how much is a soda, a beer, water, chips, a cab ride, etc

  1. Happy Feet is right about the prices....I would just add a couple of tidbits to his answer.

    Soda prices depend on what type of bottle you get.  If it is a plastic bottle then expect to pay about 30 - 40 pesos( about 1.00 - 1.25) but if you get in a glass bottle then it is about half the price.  In the DR as opposed to hear they use the glass bottle a lot more and can recycle it easier than they can a plastic bottle.

    10 pesos is about right for a bottle of water but in the DR you can also get "funditatas de agua" wich is a little bag of water for about 1-3 pesos depending on where you are.

    Have fun there.  I am going to move back down there pretty soon it fantastic down there.

  2. mmmm

    Soda.. like a Coca Cola 20 onz = 30 pesos

    Chips... = 10-20 pesos

    a beer.. idk =P

    Water= 10 pesos

  3. 1 coca-cola 1/2 liter cost 13 pesos

    1 water 1/4 liter cost 10 pesos

    1 chips 15 pesos (small bag)

    cab ride = depends where and to where (distance) always ask price before the ride!!!

    Public bus (local) between 15 and 30 pesos....

    for the moment : 1 us dollar = 33 pesos dominicanos

    I hope this helped you a bit, if you have more questions just ask. Happy to help!!
