A song for a sweet Siren...Is it fitting?

An Angle's Taken Flight (a monotetra)

An earthbound Angel's taken flight

to join the stars that twinkle bright

and sing her Siren song by night

Look to the light, look to the light.

No longer will our Siren sing.

An earthbound Angel's taken wing

and in her flight did sadness bring

a painful sting, a painful sting.

In memory; her voice so frail

sings to the wind, a lovely tale.

An earthbound Angel's taken sail

on heaven's gale, on heaven's gale.

She sings of friends with heavy heart

with knowledge that we all must part.

Through loving words she did depart

her soulful art, her soulful art.

That was a melodious song....very musical and touching...I like it so much...

and thanks for teaching what monotetra is...it is really a great way of writing lyrics.....and i think it fits well for elegies...

That is a Beautiful Tribute to Siren  I have read only a couple of Siren's poems And I did enjoy them.... It is a sad day For She will be missed As well as Her Poems........Again A Wonderful Tribute.........God Bless

Thank you for that great tribute to Siren - I was so shocked to hear of her passing. I will surely miss her and her daily installments of her current story series.  She did say that she wanted to take a break from them - and only write independent poems for awhile.  I will miss her greatly.  Really sad thing is - we have lost two poets in as many months - Dark Prince in June - Siren in July. Very interesting  (and tempting to emulate).  I bet you have to take a lot of care in choosing which rhyme sound you need for each of the verses.

Having read the criteria - there doesn't seem to be any ruling in regard to the repetition of lines, which you have introduced....you'll have to call it a monotetraspyt!!!!
