This Mixed Doubles tie kept both contenders head-to-head for three gruelling sets in local badminton arena of Auckland in New Zealand as it was concluded with 21-17, 18-21 and 21-14 score.
Though, the victorious duo was inconsistent throughout this encounter but still they managed to win opening and closing segments of this showdown.
Meanwhile, the opposing team looked off colour as they showed their brilliance only in second set of the match.
Wilfred and Gladys set the ball rolling straight away in very first game as they finished this set with a respectable difference in the final total.

They did not lose this rhythm at any stage of the first half and placed a decent figure of 11 on points table to enter the second half with a psychological edge.
They utilised this confidence in later part of the game and maintained an upper hand all the way to game point situation.
The twosome of Edwin and Angela made every effort to come out of the deficit but they had to give up this futile exercise after reading 17-21 margin on the board.
